Youth Access to Tobacco

Goal:
Eliminate illegal sales to youth.   TCP staff educates merchants and law enforcement of their legal responsibility to prevent access to tobacco products by youth.

Countering Tobacco Influences

Goal:
TCP’ s goal is to achieve tobacco-free communities by enacting local policies to reduce adult/youth exposure to tobacco advertising and alternative sponsorship.  This section also includes a tobacco cessation program.

Tobacco Cessation Program

Workplan:
The Tobacco Control Project offers smoking cessation classes at the following clinics: Riverside Neighborhood Center, Corona, Hemet, and Indio.The program includes four sessions within a one-week period.  Riverside County Regional Medical Center offers a monthly cessation program of one class per week.  These smoking cessation classes are offered without charge to County employees and to members of IEHP, Molina, and Exclusive Care HMO's.
